Come spend an evening with MyDigitalTat2 (MDT2) and walk away with strategies to talk to your teens about social media and their online interactions. Our Teen Advisors will be onsite to answer questions and engage in dialogue. All this while enjoying the "A.Space Gallery" in downtown Menlo Park.
Today's youth live in a world driven by technology. For most teens, the "always on" imperative profoundly impacts students as they mature in their social and emotional lives. Many teens use technology in a positive way, yet there are few rules about how to navigate the digital landscape. Without mentoring, our teens are at increased risk for making “mistakes” that can damage their digital reputation (tattoo) and can have long lasting effects on both their physical and emotional health. MyDigitalTAT2 helps parents to open-up the digital dialogue with their tweets/teens and can be instrumental in decreasing family stress, fostering teen resiliency and identifying online triggers and red flags. As community members and parents, our role is to help our youth develop the critical thinking skills they need to manage their own privacy, respect the privacy of others, and use responsible and ethical decision making in their digital lives. MDT2s’ curriculum is based on social emotional digital learning and explores the psychology of technology and its impact on well-being.
Enjoy a taste of wine and learn to embrace a positive and proactive approach to living mindfully and safely in this powerful and challenging networked world.
