The Concerto (2012) is a powerful and dramatic work combining echoes of Rachmaninoff\, Ravel\, and jazz. This concert opens with the vivacious Hungarian Dance No 1 by Johannes Brahms and also features Symphony No. 7 by Antonin Dvorák. Composed at the height of Dvorak’s career\, the work reflects the struggles of the Czech people to form an independent nation.
