DESCRIPTION:You are invited to attend the 6th annual Kiwanis Angel Award\, a cocktail reception honoring Marie Wolbach for founding and expanding Tech Trek\, a summer science STEM camp for rising 8th grade girls sponsored by AAUW (American Association of University Women). Since the first camp at Stanford University in 1998\, Tech Trek has impacted over 15\,000 girls\, now in 22 locations in 10 states. These campers leave with inspired views of life as a scientist\, and upon graduating\, many past attendees are in science and technology careers. From the proceeds of the event\, a donation will go to Tech Trek\, and the remaining funds will support the Kiwanis Club of Palo Alto's work for children and youth in the community.
