Choose from a wonderful and incredible variety of grains like amaranth\, quinoa\, sorghum\, teff\, and millet. You will be reintroduced to the more familiar grains of wheat\, barley\, oats\, triticale and rye. Learn how to grow\, thresh\, winnow\, mill\, cook and eat all of these. To better understand their importance to society\, learn the history and ancestral stories of these grains.  Class includes break with special samples of homemade bread\, grain salad and muffins\, made from Golden Rule-grown grains.Taught by Ellen Bartholomew\, who is the Manager of Golden Rule Garden at Ridgewood Ranch in Mendocino County. Ellen is also known as the Quinoa Queen!Assisting will be Fernanda Ramos Diaz\, a MESA steward spending her second growing season working with Ellen.
