DESCRIPTION:Internationally renowned artist Patrick Dougherty will present a free talk at the Palo Alto Art Center on November 16\, 7 p.m.\, to discuss his artistic process and vision. Patrick is currently creating a unique willow sculpture on the northeast corner of the Art Center grounds\, and invites community members to stop by to view the work-in-progress. He has created more than 200 temporary sculptures around the world using sustainable materials\, including the Art Center's Double Take sculpture which was exhibited from 2011-2016. Dougherty has received numerous awards\, including the 2011 Factor Prize for Southern Art\, North Carolina Artist Fellowship Award\, Pollock-Krasner Foundation Grant\, Henry Moore Foundation Fellowship\, Japan-US Creative Arts Fellowship\, and National Endowment for the Arts Fellowship. Princeton Architectural Press published a major book about Patrick and his work in 2009.
