State and federal law provide for more than a dozen types of protected leaves, including family and medical leave (FMLA and CFRA), pregnancy disability leave (PDL), leave provided as a reasonable accommodation (ADA) and paid sick leave. Untangling the web of available leaves and understanding the confusing interplay between them can be a tricky and time-consuming task. This seminar will provide human resource professionals, supervisors and managers insight and information concerning the most commonly applicable leave statutes, the interplay between them, managing employees on leave, and useful tips for achieving and maintaining compliance. This program is approved for 2.75 (California) recertification credit hours toward PHR, SPHR and GPHR recertification through the HR Certification Institute.
