What’s the difference between “brown material” and “green material”? How much grass should I put in my pile? And what about kitchen scraps? Learn the easiest and most effective way to compost, including how to effectively recycle your kitchen scraps and how to maximize the amount of compost you produce. Compost is the basis for having a healthy, balanced, pest- and disease-resistant garden that produces very nutritious food. Please bring a 5-gallon bucket of “green material” (grass clippings, young
weeds and/or non-meat kitchen scraps) to contribute to the interactive hands-on demonstration.
Taught by Eric Buteyn, who is the Mini-Farm Manager at Ecology Action in Willits CA.
Class held at the Common Ground Garden, 687 Arastradero Rd., Palo Alto.
